Berry smoothie Bowl – light breakfast option

Açai is a superfood berry that is bright red in colour. It adds a strong colour as well as being an antioxidant food. Beetroot is a much less expensive alternative rich in anthocyanins and natural nitrates and is also a superfood in its own right!

  • 100g frozen blueberries
  • 50g strawberries
  • ½ ripe avocado
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 teasp. Beetroot or Açai powder – (optional)
  • 3 ice cubes
  • 50ml filtered water


  1. Reserve a strawberry for topping.
  2. Blitz all the ingredients together in a food processor until well blended. If too frozen add a little hot water 1 tablsp.  at a time until you have your desired consistency.
  3. Pour into a bowl and decorate.
