Berry smoothie Bowl – light breakfast option
Açai is a superfood berry that is bright red in colour. It adds a strong colour as well as being an antioxidant food. Beetroot is a much less expensive alternative rich in anthocyanins and natural nitrates and is also a superfood in its own right!
- 100g frozen blueberries
- 50g strawberries
- ½ ripe avocado
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds
- 1 teasp. Beetroot or Açai powder – (optional)
- 3 ice cubes
- 50ml filtered water
- Reserve a strawberry for topping.
- Blitz all the ingredients together in a food processor until well blended. If too frozen add a little hot water 1 tablsp. at a time until you have your desired consistency.
- Pour into a bowl and decorate.
