Should I eat more oily fish?
I am literally always banging on about how good sardines are for our health. And they are! Sardines of the best sort of a mega 3 fatty acids, which supports our brain health and nervous system. What’s better is that they are sustainable, low on toxins and abundant. These sardines were particularly big. Cornish sardines are in season for only six months of the year (now) and better still, they are cheap!
I’ve got to be honest, I normally get my sardines out of a tin or eat them when I’m out as a restaurant or on holiday. But how hard can it be to cook a whole sardine?
Turns out not very difficult at all. I just drizzled some olive oil over the top with some lemon slices and baked them in the oven at 200° for 20 minutes. If you’re squeamish look away, but the head just twists off when they’re cooked so you don’t have to serve them eyes-a-glaring to your children!
Please tasted great for the large salad, sweet potatoes and a home-made lemon mayonnaise. Be brave, I was and it turned out fine!
P.S. Press Alert! Healthy fats don’t make you fat!
