Berry Chia Spiced Smoothie

Berry Chia Spiced Smoothie - Dominique Ludwig

I really like breakfast smoothies. This one is full of low glycaemic berries, seeds and even anti-inflammatory turmeric for good measure.

It is thickened with chia and flax seeds, rather than banana, to keep the sugar level down and is bursting with phytoestrogens and soluble fibre – good for hormone balance and cholesterol levels.

If you don’t fancy the turmeric or cinnamon for breakfast, just leave them out.

Ingredients, serves 1

80g frozen blueberries

1 level tablespoon ground flax seeds

1 level tablespoon chia seeds

250ml plant-based milk

¼ teaspoon ground turmeric

¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Method

Blitz together in a food processor, liquidiser or bullet-style blender until combined. Add more milk if too thick.
